What is PowerPoint to PDF?

A PDF handout is easier to send, print and read than a slide deck. This converter reads the text on each slide of a .pptx file and writes a PDF with one page per slide, labelled with its slide number. It is built for text content, so pictures, charts, animations and design themes are not reproduced.

How to convert PowerPoint to PDF

  1. Upload your .pptx presentation.
  2. Press Start. The tool reads every slide in order and collects its text.
  3. Each slide becomes a page headed “Slide 1”, “Slide 2” and so on.
  4. Download the PDF and check that the slide order matches your deck.

When PowerPoint to PDF is useful

Text-only handouts

Give attendees the outline and key points of a talk.

Speaker notes review

Read the wording of every slide on a single scrolling document.

Proofreading

Check spelling across a long deck without clicking through slides.

Tips for better results

If your deck depends on pictures, charts or design, use PowerPoint's own Export to PDF option for a faithful copy. Use this tool when the words matter most. Only .pptx files are supported, so save older .ppt decks in the newer format first.

Good to know before you start

A .pptx file is a ZIP archive that holds one XML file for each slide. The converter opens that archive in your browser, reads the text runs on every slide and prints them as a page with the slide number at the top. That is why it is quick and private, and also why pictures, charts and backgrounds are missing from the result. Text in speaker notes is not included. If your presentation is mostly text, such as a lecture outline or an agenda, the output makes an excellent proofreading copy. For anything visual, choose PowerPoint's own export so the design is preserved.
