What is Edit PDF?
Need to fill in a blank, add a note or put a label on a page? This tool writes your text onto the pages you choose, at one of five positions, and saves the result as a new PDF. The original content is untouched, and the added text sits on top of it.
How to add text to a PDF
- Upload the PDF.
- Type your text, choose the pages (for example 1 or 1-3) and a position such as bottom right or middle.
- Pick a size: small, normal or large.
- Press Start and download the edited file.

Tips for better results
The tool adds new text; it cannot change words that already exist in the PDF. Only English letters and numbers are supported for the added text. For longer or free-position annotations, use PDF Annotator. If you need to remove content, use Redact PDF.
Good to know before you start
The editor adds text; it does not rewrite existing content. You choose the text, the pages, the corner or middle position and a size, and the tool stamps it on every selected page with a standard font. Positions are measured from the page edges with a fixed margin, so the same setting gives a consistent result across pages. This works well for page labels, reference numbers, short notes and simple form entries on flat PDFs that have no fillable fields. For longer paragraphs, prepare the text in a word processor and merge it as an extra page. Always view the result at full size to confirm that the text does not cover important content.
