What is Chat with PDF?

Type a question and this tool looks through your PDF for the passages that best match its keywords, then shows them with page numbers. It is a search-based helper that works locally, so it does not generate new text or send anything to a server.

How to search answers in a PDF

  1. Upload a text-based PDF.
  2. Type your question, such as “What is the payment deadline?”.
  3. Press Start. The document is scanned for the most relevant passages.
  4. Read the matches and check the page numbers in the original.

When Chat with PDF is useful

Contracts

Find clauses about dates, fees or termination.

Manuals

Locate the section that explains a setting.

Research papers

Find where a method or result is described.

Tips for better results

Use specific words from the document rather than long sentences. The tool returns passages, not written answers, so read them in context. It cannot read scans without OCR PDF.

Good to know before you start

This helper works like a smart search. It breaks your question into meaningful keywords, ignores common words, and then scores groups of three consecutive sentences by how often those keywords appear, giving extra weight to rarer words. The best passages are returned with page numbers so you can verify them. Because it matches words rather than meaning, phrasing matters: ask "termination notice period" rather than "how can I leave early". If the answer does not appear in the text, the tool says that nothing matching was found instead of guessing. It is private by design, as the document never leaves your browser.

Why use PDFToolkit

When you search answers in a PDF with PDFToolkit, the work stays on your own device. Your contracts, ID scans and invoices are processed in the browser and are never sent to a server.
