Short version
PDFToolkit has no server that receives your files. Merging, splitting, converting, editing and every other action run in your browser, on your own device. We do not have accounts, and we do not store, read or share your documents.
What stays on your device
Your files and the results are held only in your browser's memory while the page is open. Closing or refreshing the tab removes them. Your language choice is kept in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it; it never leaves your device.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits to our pages. The script loads after the page has finished loading, never reads your files, and IP addresses are anonymised. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser.
Our hosting provider may keep standard access logs (for example, which pages were requested and the IP address), which is normal for any website.
Third parties
The PDF libraries used by the tools are loaded from the cdnjs content network. The OCR PDF tool downloads its open-source text-recognition engine and language data from public content networks when you use it. Your file is not sent to them; only the engine files are downloaded to your browser.
