What is PDF to PNG?

Tips for better results

PNG files are larger than JPG files, especially at high detail. If you need smaller images for photos, use PDF to JPG. Pages are drawn on a white background.

Good to know before you start

PNG is a lossless format, so every pixel of the rendered page is preserved without the blur that JPG compression can add around letters. That makes it the better choice for screenshots of documents, diagrams, tables and anything with thin lines. The price is file size: a full-page PNG at high detail can be several times larger than the same page as a JPG. Pages are drawn on a white background, so transparent areas of the PDF appear white. If you only need part of a page, convert it and crop the picture in an image editor, or use Extract PDF Pages first to limit the work to the pages you need.
