About PDFToolkit
PDFToolkit is a free set of online PDF tools that work entirely inside your web browser. You can merge, split, compress, convert, edit, sign, protect and unlock PDF files without creating an account or installing software. The idea is simple: documents are personal, so the tools should come to your file instead of your file going to a server.
How it works
When you open a tool and choose a file, your browser reads it and runs the processing code on your own device. The result is created locally and offered as a download. We do not receive the file, so we do not store it, read it or share it. This is also why the service can be free without sign-up: there is no server cost for handling your documents.
What we believe
- Privacy by design. No upload means nothing to leak.
- Honest descriptions. Each tool page states what it does and what it does not do, such as text-only conversion or pages saved as pictures.
- No dark patterns. No watermarks, no forced registration and no hidden daily limits.
- Plain language. Short steps and clear options, with guides for common tasks.
Limits you should know about
Doing the work in the browser has trade-offs. Very large files depend on your device memory. Some conversions, such as PDF to Word or Word to PDF, focus on text and do not reproduce complex layouts. Tools that need to rebuild pages, like compression, unlocking and redaction, save pages as pictures, so text in the result is not selectable. We list these points on the relevant tool pages so you can decide whether a tool suits your document.
Languages
The tool interface can be switched between English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, French, German and Chinese from the language menu in the footer. Guides and tool descriptions are currently written in English.
Who is behind it
PDF Converter Toolkit is built and run by its founder. Read the founder's story, and see why browser-based PDF tools are safer for your documents.
