What is ODS to PDF?

Spreadsheets saved in the ODS format by LibreOffice Calc or OpenOffice can be turned into a printable PDF here. The tool reads the cell values and draws them as a table on landscape pages.

How to convert ODS to PDF

  1. Pick an .ods file.
  2. Press Start to read rows and columns from the file.
  3. Values are placed in a table with a highlighted first row.
  4. Download table.pdf.

When ODS to PDF is useful

Sharing figures

Give a read-only copy of a calculation sheet.

Printing

Create paginated tables from a long list.

Record keeping

Save a snapshot of data in a fixed format.

Tips for better results

Only cell text is converted, not formulas, charts or formatting. Empty trailing cells are trimmed. If you have an Excel file, use Excel to PDF instead.

Good to know before you start

OpenDocument spreadsheets store their data in content.xml as rows of cells. This tool reads those rows, trims empty cells at the end of each line and places the values in a landscape table with a shaded first row. Formulas are shown by the result they display, not by the formula text, and number formats are whatever the file stores as text. Charts, images and cell colours are ignored. This is enough for sharing a price list, a roster or a set of figures in a fixed, printable layout. If your document has several sheets, check the output to make sure it contains the data you expected.
