What is ODP to PDF?
ODP presentations come from LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice. This tool collects the text on each slide and writes a PDF with one page per slide, which is handy for handouts and proofreading.
How to convert ODP to PDF
- Choose an .odp file.
- Press Start to read the slides in order.
- Each slide is written as a page headed with its number.
- Download the PDF and check the order.
When ODP to PDF is useful
Handouts
Share the key points of a talk.
Proofreading
Read all slide text in one place.
Archiving
Keep the wording of a presentation in a stable format.
Tips for better results
Images, shapes and animations are not reproduced. For slide designs, export to PDF from Impress itself.
Good to know before you start
An OpenDocument presentation keeps its slides as draw pages inside content.xml. The converter splits the file at each page boundary, removes the markup and writes the remaining text on its own PDF page headed with the slide number. Speaker notes, images and shapes are not included. The output works well as a proofreading copy, as a text handout, or as a record of what a talk contained. If a slide holds only a picture, its page will be empty or short. For designed handouts, use the export function of LibreOffice Impress, which preserves the look of every slide. Only .odp files are accepted, so presentations from PowerPoint should go through the PowerPoint to PDF tool instead. Processing happens page by page in memory, which keeps it quick for ordinary decks, and a very large deck with hundreds of slides simply takes a little longer on a phone than on a computer.
